May the Spirit of Our Abuelas Protect Us is a series of digital collage altars invoking the ancestral wisdom and fierce love of our grandmothers. These visual prayers call upon their spirits to protect our lands, our queer and trans children, and our global kin in Haiti, Sudan, Congo, Palestine, and Puerto Rico. Each altar is layered with symbolism, resistance, and remembrance—an offering for liberation, survival, and collective healing. This work is both a spiritual invocation and a political act, honoring the sacred duty to protect life, dignity, and belonging across borders and generations.
